Issue no. 1
Introducing the Organize! reader

We are excited to share that the first Organize! reader will be launched during the upcoming Meetup! If you’re joining us for the event on the 15th-17th of May, you will receive one as part of your participation and we are hoping you’ll get as much out of reading it as we did preparing it.
This is the first of what will become a yearly publication by Organize! and for this special issue, we have reunited knowledge from dozens of organizers. Over the 128 pages, you will find interviews with Valery Alzaga, Jeremy Corbyn, Susanne Lang from Die Linke and James Schneider from Progressive International. You will also find deep-dives into the methods that are used by organizers and what makes them particularly efficient: deep-canvassing, print publishing and of course phone-banking. Finally, you’ll get to know better many of the organizations that inspire us and will be present in May.
Still curious? Here is a snippet of what’s behind the cover: You’ll get to read about How Scaling Boosted Zohran Mamdani’s Campaign, where Arielle Swernoff comes back on the strategies that led to the historic victory of the New York Mayoral office. In Numbers don’t lie: How Phone Calls and Local Papers Boosted the Swedish Left, you’ll get to hear from Zetkin’s very own William Skoglund, on the strategies that have made the Swedish Left Party more visible and how “deliberate and sustained campaigning makes the left stronger”.
In Changing People’s Hearts and Minds by Door-Knocking, Bruno Lauteslager shares his expertise in deep canvassing and how taking the time for meaningful conversation outside of political campaigns can lead to effective changes in public opinion.
Finally, Aron Etzler shares his experience and wisdom for that special energy that makes some meetings special and particularly motivating in Bottling magic, and why the heck we have never been taught how.
The reader also includes a guide to Malmö for everyone joining us in May from far and wide, where we share our favourite restaurants, cafés and Malmö activities.
